Supply chain services is defined as the complex series of exchange or flow of materials and information that is established both within each organization or company and outside it, with their suppliers and customers.
Although there is a clear difference between “Supply Chain Management” and “Supply Chain”, in daily practice that difference has been lost, so it is common to use both terms interchangeably. However it is important to understand the precise definitions given by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), the leading authority on the subject worldwide.
The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) defines “Supply Chain” as:
The Supply Chain that in many companies, starts with unprocessed raw materials and ends with the final consumer using the finished products.
